SENATOR OSITA NGWU TAKES A BOLD STEP TO BOOST EDUCATION/LEARNING CULTURE IN ENUGU WEST AS HE KICKED-OFF THE FIRST EVER INTER-SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION IN ENUGU WEST


In his unwavering commitment to promote and improve reading and learning culture with its resultant positive implications on the society, the Senator representing the good people of  Enugu West  senetorial District, Engr. Osita Ngwu ,on Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, kicked-off the Enugu West Quiz Competition for secondary schools across the zone at the Sullivan Chime Hall, Awgu LGA Headquarters.

Declaring the event open, the Supervisor for Education on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Awgu LGA, Hon Nwabueze Nwonwu expressed immense appreciation to the Senator for his people-oriented leadership, stating that the quiz competition has the tendency to boost the confidence of the students and impact largely on their academic well-being which could automatically translate to personal developments and becoming a huge asset to the society. He therefore, charged the participants to exploit the rare opportunity available to them to showcase their various educational prowess and bring pride and honour to their respective schools.

He added that the initiative was part of the Senator's concerted effort towards empowering the teeming youths in the region by rewarding academic excellence, stating that quality education is the bedrock to societal growth and development. He also commended the teachers for their invaluable contributions in nation building and prayed God to bless them in all ramifications.

The schools that made it to the next stage of the competition include; Science School, Ihe(40 points); Urban Secondary School, Awgu (35 points); Technical College, Mgbowo (30 points); Technical College, Amoli (29 points); and Technical College, Mgbidi (25 points).
